시편 87편은 고라 자손의 시로, 하나님이 사랑하시는 시온을 노래하고 애굽·바벨론·블레셋·두로·구스 같은 이방 민족들도 시온에서 났다고 일컬어지리라고 선포하는 7절짜리 짧은 시다.
