Terms of use

Church.wiki is a non-profit church encyclopedia. These terms apply to everyone who uses the Church.wiki website and the Church.wiki apps (Android and iOS).

1. Anyone can read; members can edit

Church pages, the encyclopedia and the Bible reader are open to everyone without logging in. To edit pages, write comments or keep sermon notes you need an account. Signing up is free and open to anyone aged 14 or over.

2. Accounts

  • Your username and password (or Google/Apple account) are for your use only. Do not lend them to others or impersonate anyone.
  • You can delete your account at any time from My account. Personal data is handled under the Privacy policy.
  • Accounts that break these terms or harm others may be suspended without prior notice.

3. Editing and copyright

  • Pages and comments that members write or edit remain on Church.wiki, may be edited again by other members, and may be displayed and shared by Church.wiki within the service. If you delete your account, your contributions remain without your name.
  • Do not post other people's text, photos or works without permission. Cite the source of sourced material.
  • The Bible texts (New Korean Revised Version, Revised New Korean Standard Version, New Korean Translation and others) are copyrighted by the Korean Bible Society and the respective rights holders; Church.wiki displays them only within the licensed scope. Do not scrape the text wholesale or republish it elsewhere.
  • Church information is based on public data, map services and denominational records; anyone can correct or report mistakes.

4. Sermon notes

Sermon notes are private records visible only to the member. Use recording and transcription only to take notes on sermons you attend for personal study; do not use them in ways the preacher or church would not want, or distribute them to others.

5. Prohibited conduct

  • Posting false information, defamation, hate speech, advertising or spam
  • Disparaging a church, denomination or person without grounds, or exposing private information
  • Bulk scraping with automated tools or disrupting the service

6. Limitation of liability

Church.wiki content is edited collaboratively by many members and may be incomplete or out of date. For important decisions such as visiting a church, giving or career choices, check with the church directly. As a free, non-profit service, Church.wiki does not guarantee the accuracy of its content or uninterrupted service, and to the extent permitted by law is not liable for damages arising from its use.

7. User-generated content and zero tolerance

  • Church.wiki does not tolerate objectionable or harmful content or the users who post it (zero tolerance). This includes profanity, slurs and hate speech, sexual content, harassment, spam and advertising, false information and exposing others' private information.
  • Every comment, discussion post and page has a Report button. Reported content is reviewed within 24 hours and removed or hidden, and the user who posted it may be suspended.
  • There is also a Block option for other users. Comments and discussion posts from people you block are hidden from you, and you can unblock them at any time in My account.
  • When comments, discussion posts and pages are saved, profanity and slurs are filtered automatically and not stored.
  • You must agree to these terms and the privacy policy when signing up; without agreement you cannot register.
