¹當時、門徒增多、有操希利尼音之猶太人、訾議希伯來人、因每日供給、而忽其嫠也、

²十二徒召衆門徒曰、我儕遺上帝道、而几筵是役、非宜也、

³兄弟乎、當於爾中擇有令名、充於聖神及智者七人、我儕可立之以司斯事、

⁴我則專務祈禱宣道、

⁵衆悅其言、遂選司提反、乃充乎信與聖神者、及腓利、伯羅哥羅、尼迦挪、提門、巴米拿、並進教之安提阿人尼哥拉、

⁶立之於使徒前、遂祈禱手按之、○

⁷上帝之道益興、門徒之數、極盛於耶路撒冷、祭司之服從斯道者亦衆、○

⁸司提反充乎恩與能、大行異蹟奇兆於民中、

⁹有稱爲利百地拿會堂、及古利奈、亞力山太、基利家、亞西亞之會堂者數人、起而與司提反辯論、

¹⁰司提反以智與神而言、衆莫能禦、

¹¹遂賄人使言曰、我儕曾聞其有謗讟摩西、及上帝之言、

¹²乃聳動衆民、與長老士子、突來執之、曳至公會、

¹³設僞證者、曰、此人出言謗讟聖所及律法不已、

¹⁴蓋我儕曾聞其言曰、斯拿撒勒人耶穌、將毀此所、且易摩西授我之規、

¹⁵坐公會中者、皆注目司提反、見其容如天使之容焉、
