1Bless the LORD , O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.내 영혼아, 야훼를 찬미하여라. 속으로부터 그 거룩한 이름을 찬미하여라.
2Bless the LORD , O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:내 영혼아, 야훼를 찬미하여라. 베푸신 모든 은덕 잊지 마라.
3Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;네 모든 죄를 용서하시고 네 모든 병을 고쳐주신다.
4Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;네 목숨을 구렁에서 건져주시고 사랑과 자비의 관을 씌워주신다.
5Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.네 인생에 복을 가득 채워주시어 독수리 같은 젊음을 되찾아주신다.Notes
6The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.야훼께서는 정의를 펴시고 모든 억눌린 자들의 권리를 찾아주신다.
7He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.모세에게 당신의 뜻을 밝혀주시고 이스라엘 자손에게 그 장한 일을 알리셨다.
8The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.야훼께서는 자비하시고 은혜로우시며 화를 참으시고 사랑이 넘치신다.
9He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.끝까지 따지지 아니하시고 앙심을 오래 품지 않으신다.
10He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.우리 죄를 그대로 묻지 않으시고 우리의 잘못을 그대로 갚지 않으신다.
11For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.높기가 땅과 하늘에 비길 수 있고, 경외하는 자에게는 그 사랑 그지없으시다.Notes
12As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.동에서 서가 먼 것처럼 우리의 죄를 멀리 치우시고
13Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.아비가 자식을 어여삐 여기듯이 야훼께서는 당신 경외하는 자를 어여삐 여기시니
14For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.우리의 됨됨이를 알고 계시며 우리가 한낱 티끌임을 아시기 때문이다.
15As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.인생은 풀과 같은 것, 들에 핀 꽃처럼 한번 피었다가도
16For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.스치는 바람결에도 이내 사라져 그 있던 자리조차 알 수 없는 것,
17But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children;그러나 야훼의 사랑은 당신을 경외하는 자에게 처음부터 영원히 한결같고 그의 정의는 후손 대대에 미치리라.
18To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.당신과 맺은 계약을 지키고 주신 법령을 잊지 않고 따르는 자에게 미치리라.
19The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.야훼께서는 하늘에 옥좌를 차리시고 온 누리를 다스리신다.
20Bless the LORD , ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.그의 모든 천사들아, 야훼를 찬미하여라. 그 말씀의 일꾼인 능력자들아, 그의 말씀 익히 들어라.
21Bless ye the LORD , all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.그의 모든 군대들아, 그 뜻을 받들어 모시는 신하들아, 야훼를 찬미하여라.
22Bless the LORD , all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the LORD , O my soul.너희 모든 피조물들아, 그가 다스리는 모든 곳에서 야훼를 찬미하여라. 내 영혼아, 야훼를 찬미하여라.
