시편 122편은 '성전에 올라가는 노래' 가운데 하나다. 순례자가 예루살렘에 이른 기쁨을 노래하고, 예루살렘의 평안을 위해 기도하라고 권하는 9절짜리 시다.

1I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD .야훼 집에 가자 할 때, 나는 몹시도 기뻤다. Notes
2Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem.우리는 벌써 왔다, 예루살렘아, 네 문 앞에 발걸음을 멈추었다.
3Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together:예루살렘아, 과연 수도답게 잘도 지어졌구나. 모든 것이 한몸같이 잘도 짜여졌구나.
4Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD , unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the LORD .그 지파들이, 야훼의 지파들이 이스라엘의 법도에 따라 야훼 이름 기리러 그리로 올라가는구나.
5For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David.재판석이 거기에 있고 다윗 가문이 앉을 자리 또한 거기에 있구나.
6Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.예루살렘을 위하여 평화의 소리 외쳐라. "네 집안에 평화!"
7Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces."네 성안에 평화!" "궁궐 안에 평화!"
8For my brethren and companions’ sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.내 겨레, 내 벗들을 나 사랑하거늘 "너에게 평화!" 외치게 해다오.
9Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good.우리 하느님 야훼의 집을 나 사랑하거늘, 너에게 복이 있으라.
