시편 149편은 성도의 회중에게 새 노래와 춤과 악기로 하나님을 찬양하라고 부르고, 손에 든 두 날 가진 칼로 열방에 대한 심판을 시행하는 영광을 노래하는 찬양시이다.

1 Praise ye the LORD . Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints. 할렐루야 , 야훼 께 새 노래를 불러라. 신도들아, 모여서 그를 찬양하여라.2 Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King. 이스라엘아, 너를 내신 분을 모시고 기뻐하여라. 시온 시민들아, 너희 임금님을 모시고 즐거워하여라. 3 Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp. 춤을 추며 그의 이름 찬양하여라. 북 치고 수금 타며 노래하여라. 4 For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation. 야훼께서 당신 백성 반기시고 짓눌린 자들에게 승리의 영광 주셨다. 5 Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds. 신도들아, 승리 잔치 벌여라. 밤에도 손뼉치며 노래하여라. 6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand; 목청 높여 하느님을 찬양하여라. 손에는 쌍날칼을 드시고 7 To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; 뭇 민족에게 원수를 갚으시며 뭇 나라에게 벌을 주시고 8 To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; 왕들에게 고랑 채우시며 권세 있는 자들을 사슬로 묶고 9 To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints.
