시편 14편은 하나님이 없다고 말하는 "어리석은 자"의 부패와 사람 가운데 선을 행하는 자가 없음을 노래하고, 시온에서 올 이스라엘의 구원을 바라며 끝나는 다윗의 시이다.

¹The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.우둔한 사람은 마음속으로 말하지.‘하나님은 없다.’라고.그들은 썩어 빠졌어. 몹쓸 짓을 해.좋은 일 하는 사람이 없어.

²The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.여호와가 하늘에서 인간들을 내려다보시지. 알아보시려는 거야, 슬기로운 사람이 있는지, 하나님을 찾는 사람이 있는지.

³They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.그 모두 엇나갔고, 다 함께 썩어 빠졌어. 좋은 일 하는 사람이 없어. 하나도 없어.

⁴Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD .못된 짓 하는 모든 사람들은 알지 못하나요? 그들은 내 백성을 밥 먹듯이 집어삼키는 사람들입니다. 여호와를 그들은 부르지 않습니다.

⁵There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous.거기서 그들은 매우 무서워했습니다. 하나님이 의인의 세대에 계시기 때문입니다.

⁶Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the LORD is his refuge.불쌍한 사람을 해치려던 계획 때문에 그대들이 창피당할 것입니다. 여호와가 그의 대피소이시니까요.

⁷Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the LORD bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.시온으로부터 이스라엘의 구원이 있기를! 여호와가 자기 백성의 운명을 바꾸어 주실 때, 야곱이 기뻐하기를! 이스라엘이 즐거워하기를!
