시편 24편은 온 땅이 여호와의 것임을 고백하고, 여호와의 산에 오를 사람의 자격을 묻고 답하며, 성문을 열고 영광의 왕을 맞아들이라고 노래하는 다윗의 시이다.

1The earth is the LORD’s , and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.여호와께 속하는 거야, 땅과 거기에 가득한 것도!세계와 그 안에 사는 것들도!
2For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.여호와가 바다 위에 땅의 기초를 놓으셨고, 강 위에 땅을 튼튼하게 세우셨거든.
3Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD ? or who shall stand in his holy place?누가 올라갈 수 있을까, 여호와의 산에? 누가 설 수 있을까, 여호와의 거룩한 장소에?
4He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.손 깨끗하고 마음 맑은 사람, 헛된 것 갈망하지 않는 사람, 속임수로 맹세하지 않는 사람이지.
5He shall receive the blessing from the LORD , and righteousness from the God of his salvation.그런 사람은 여호와가 베푸시는 복을 누리고, 그를 도우시는 하나님의 공의를 맛볼 거야.
6This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.이런 사람은 하나님을 찾아 여쭙는 세대에 속한다네. 야곱의 하나님의 얼굴을 찾는 사람들에게 속한다네. 셀라.
7Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.들어라, 큰 문들아, 너희 머리를! 열려라, 오래된 출입문들아! 영광의 임금이 들어가신다.
8Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.누가 이 영광의 임금이신가? 힘세고 강한 여호와이시다. 전쟁에 강한 여호와이시다.
9Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.들어라, 큰 문들아, 너희 머리를! 열려라, 오래된 출입문들아! 영광의 임금이 들어가신다.
10Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.도대체 누가 이 영광의 임금이신가? 전능하신 여호와야말로 영광의 임금이시다. 셀라.
