1Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said,여호와께서 욥에게 말씀하셨다.
2Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him ? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.“트집 잡는 사람이 샷다이(전능하신 분)와 다투겠느냐? 하나님을 나무라는 자, 대답해 보아라.”
3Then Job answered the LORD , and said,욥이 여호와께 대답했다.
4Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.“보십시오, 보잘것없는 사람입니다. 제가 주님께 뭐라 답하겠습니까? 제 손을 입에 댈 뿐입니다.
5Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.한 번 말씀드렸으니 대답하지 않겠습니다. 두 번 말씀드렸으니 더는 하지 않겠습니다.”
6Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,그러자 여호와께서 폭풍우 가운데서 욥에게 말씀하셨다.
7Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.“남자답게 허리를 묶으려무나. 내가 물을 테니 나한테 좀 알려 다오.
8Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?네가 나의 정의를 깨뜨리기라도 하려느냐? 너를 의롭다 하려고 나를 악하다 하려느냐?
9Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?너에게 하나님 같은 팔이 있느냐? 하나님 같은 목소리로 천둥이 치게 할 수 있느냐?
10Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.남다르고 뛰어난 것으로 몸을 꾸며 보아라. 위엄과 명예라는 옷을 입어 보아라.
11Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.밀려오는 너의 무서운 분노를 쏟아붓고, 누구든 우쭐대면 노려보아 기를 꺾어라.
12Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.누구든 우쭐대면 노려보아 기죽이고, 불의한 사람들을 그 자리에서 짓밟아라.
13Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret.그들을 하나같이 흙에 묻어라. 그들 얼굴은 아무도 못 보게 싸매 버려라.
14Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.그럼 나도 너에게 대단하다 말해 주지. 네 오른손이 너를 건져 낼 수 있다고.
15Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.보라, 브헤못을. 너를 만든 것처럼 내가 그놈을 만들었단다. 소처럼 풀을 먹지.
16Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.보라, 허리가 얼마나 센지. 배 힘줄이 얼마나 단단한지.
17He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.꼬리는 삼나무(백향목)처럼 딱딱하지. 넓적다리 힘줄이 촘촘히 짜여 있지.
18His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.뼈가 놋파이프 같고, 뼈대가 쇠막대 같지.
19He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him .그놈은 하나님이 가는 길에서 처음으로 만든 것이야. 그놈 만든 이가 그놈에게 칼을 주었지.
20Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.먹을거리는 산이 대 주는 거야. 온갖 들짐승 뛰노는 그곳이.
21He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.연잎 아래 그놈이 눕지. 그 숨는 곳 곧 갈대와 늪에.
22The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.연잎이 그 위에 그림자를 드리우지. 마른시내 버들도 그놈을 둘러싼단다.
23Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.보라, 강물 거세게 차올라도 눈도 깜짝 안 하는구나. 요르단강 입까지 솟구쳐 올라도 아무렇지 않구나.
24He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.그놈이 눈 뜨고 있는데 사로잡을 수 있겠느냐? 덫을 놓아서 코를 꿸 수 있겠느냐?”
