1Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish’s belly,요나가 물고기 뱃속에서 주 하나님께 기도드리며
2And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD , and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.아뢰었다. "내가 고통스러울 때 주께 불러 아뢰었더니, 주께서 내게 응답하셨습니다. 내가 스올 한가운데서 살려 달라고 외쳤더니, 주께서 나의 호소를 들어주셨습니다.
3For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me.주께서 나를 바다 한가운데, 깊음 속으로 던지셨으므로, 큰 물결이 나를 에워싸고, 주의 파도와 큰 물결이 내 위에 넘쳤습니다.
4Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.내가 주께 아뢰기를 '주의 눈 앞에서 쫓겨났어도, 내가 반드시 주님 계신 성전을 다시 바라보겠습니다' 하였습니다.
5The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head.물이 나를 두르기를 영혼까지 하였으며, 깊음이 나를 에워쌌고, 바다풀이 내 머리를 휘감았습니다.
6I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.나는 땅 속 멧부리까지 내려갔습니다. 땅이 빗장을 질러 나를 영영 가두어 놓으려 했습니다만, 주 나의 하나님, 주께서 그 구덩이 속에서 내 생명을 건져 주셨습니다.
7When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD : and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.내 목숨이 힘없이 꺼져 갈 때에, 내가 주님을 기억하였더니, 나의 기도가 주께 이르렀으며, 주님 계신 성전에까지 이르렀습니다.
8They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.헛된 우상을 섬기는 자들은, 주께서 베풀어 주신 은혜를 저버립니다.
9But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD .그러나 나는 감사의 노래를 부르며, 주께 희생제물을 바치겠습니다. 서원한 것은 무엇이든지 지키겠습니다. 구원은 오직 주님에게서만 옵니다."
10And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land .주께서 그 물고기에게 명하시니, 물고기가 요나를 뭍에다가 뱉어 냈다.
