¹The sons of Levi; Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.레위의 아들은 게르손, 크핫, 므라리.

²And the sons of Kohath; Amram, Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel.게르손의 아들은 리브니, 시므이.

³And the children of Amram; Aaron, and Moses, and Miriam. The sons also of Aaron; Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.크핫의 아들은 아므람, 이스할, 헤브론, 우찌엘.

⁴Eleazar begat Phinehas, Phinehas begat Abishua,므라리의 아들은 마흘리, 무시. 레위의 씨족을 계보별로 보면 아래와 같다.

⁵And Abishua begat Bukki, and Bukki begat Uzzi,게르손의 아들은 리브니, 그 다음 대는 야핫, 그 다음 대는 짐마,

⁶And Uzzi begat Zerahiah, and Zerahiah begat Meraioth,그 다음 대는 요아, 그 다음 대는 이또, 그 다음 대는 제라, 그 다음 대는 야드래.

⁷Meraioth begat Amariah, and Amariah begat Ahitub,크핫의 아들은 암미나답, 그 다음 대는 코라, 그 다음 대는 아씨르,

⁸And Ahitub begat Zadok, and Zadok begat Ahimaaz,그 다음 대는 엘카나, 그 다음 대는 에비야삽, 그 다음 대는 아씨르,

⁹And Ahimaaz begat Azariah, and Azariah begat Johanan,그 다음 대는 다핫, 그 다음 대는 우리엘, 그 다음 대는 우찌야, 그 다음 대는 사울.

¹⁰And Johanan begat Azariah, (he it is that executed the priest’s office in the temple that Solomon built in Jerusalem:)엘카나의 아들은 아마새와 아히못.

¹¹And Azariah begat Amariah, and Amariah begat Ahitub,아히못의 아들은 엘카나, 그 다음 대는 소배, 그 다음 대는 나핫,

¹²And Ahitub begat Zadok, and Zadok begat Shallum,그 다음 대는 엘리압, 그 다음 대는 여로함, 그 다음 대는 엘카나, 그 다음 대는 사무엘.

¹³And Shallum begat Hilkiah, and Hilkiah begat Azariah,사무엘은 두 아들을 두었는데 맏아들이 요엘이요 둘째가 아비야이다.

¹⁴And Azariah begat Seraiah, and Seraiah begat Jehozadak,므라리의 아들은 마흘리, 그 다음 대는 리브니, 그 다음 대는 시므이, 그 다음 대는 우짜,

¹⁵And Jehozadak went into captivity , when the LORD carried away Judah and Jerusalem by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.그 다음 대는 시마, 그 다음 대는 하끼야, 그 다음 대는 아사이야.

¹⁶The sons of Levi; Gershom, Kohath, and Merari.다윗은 야훼의 궤가 성전에 안치되는 날부터 성전 음악을 책임질 사람들을 임명하였는데,

¹⁷And these be the names of the sons of Gershom; Libni, and Shimei.그들은 솔로몬이 예루살렘에 야훼의 성전을 지을 때까지 '만남의 장막' 곧 성막 앞에서 성가대원으로서 노래를 불렀다. 그들이 맡은 임무는 정해진 절차에 따라 진행되었다.

¹⁸And the sons of Kohath were , Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel.그들의 계보는 다음과 같다. 크핫의 후손들 가운데 헤만은 성가대장이었다. 그의 아버지는 요엘, 그 윗대는 사무엘,

¹⁹The sons of Merari; Mahli, and Mushi. And these are the families of the Levites according to their fathers.그 윗대는 엘카나, 그 윗대는 여로함, 그 윗대는 엘리엘, 그 윗대는 도아,

²⁰Of Gershom; Libni his son, Jahath his son, Zimmah his son,그 윗대는 수브, 그 윗대는 엘카나, 그 윗대는 마핫, 그 윗대는 아마새,

²¹Joah his son, Iddo his son, Zerah his son, Jeaterai his son.그 윗대는 엘카나, 그 윗대는 요엘, 그 윗대는 아자리야, 그 윗대는 스바니야,

²²The sons of Kohath; Amminadab his son, Korah his son, Assir his son,그 윗대는 다핫, 그 윗대는 아씨르, 그 윗대는 에비야삽, 그 윗대는 코라,

²³Elkanah his son, and Ebiasaph his son, and Assir his son,그 윗대는 이스할, 그 윗대는 크핫, 그 윗대는 레위, 그 윗대는 이스라엘이다.

²⁴Tahath his son, Uriel his son, Uzziah his son, and Shaul his son.그의 오른 쪽에는 아삽이 서게 되어 있었다. 아삽은 헤만과는 일족이었다. 아삽의 아버지는 베레기야, 그 윗대는 시마,

²⁵And the sons of Elkanah; Amasai, and Ahimoth.그 윗대는 미가엘, 그 윗대는 바아세야, 그 윗대는 말기야,

²⁶As for Elkanah: the sons of Elkanah; Zophai his son, and Nahath his son,그 윗대는 에드니, 그 윗대는 제라, 그 윗대는 아다야,

²⁷Eliab his son, Jeroham his son, Elkanah his son.그 윗대는 에단, 그 윗대는 짐마, 그 윗대는 시므이,

²⁸And the sons of Samuel; the firstborn Vashni, and Abiah.그 윗대는 야핫, 그 윗대는 게르손, 그 윗대는 레위이다.

²⁹The sons of Merari; Mahli, Libni his son, Shimei his son, Uzza his son,그들의 왼쪽에는 그들과 일족인 므라리의 후손 에단이 서게 되어 있었다. 에단의 아버지는 키시, 그 윗대는 압디, 그 윗대는 말룩,

³⁰Shimea his son, Haggiah his son, Asaiah his son.그 윗대는 하사비야, 그 윗대는 아마지야, 그 윗대는 힐키야,

³¹And these are they whom David set over the service of song in the house of the LORD , after that the ark had rest.그 윗대는 암시, 그 윗대는 바니, 그 윗대는 세멜,

³²And they ministered before the dwelling place of the tabernacle of the congregation with singing, until Solomon had built the house of the LORD in Jerusalem: and then they waited on their office according to their order.그 윗대는 마흘리, 그 윗대는 무시, 그 윗대는 므라리, 그 윗대는 레위이다. 9장 33절 이상이 레위 지파 각 가문의 어른들 가운데 합창하는 임무를 띤 사람이다. 그들은 주야로 자기 맡은 일을 할 수 있도록 당번이 아닐 때에도 언제나 별관에 있었다.

³³And these are they that waited with their children. Of the sons of the Kohathites: Heman a singer, the son of Joel, the son of Shemuel,그들의 일족인 다른 레위인들은 하느님의 성전, 곧 성막에서 그 밖의 모든 일을 맡아보았다.

³⁴The son of Elkanah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Eliel, the son of Toah,그러나 번제단과 분향단에서 제물을 살라 바치는 아주 거룩한 일은 아론과 그의 후손이 도맡았다. 하느님의 종 모세가 지시한 대로 이스라엘의 죄를 벗겨주는 일은 그들이 맡아 하였던 것이다.

³⁵The son of Zuph, the son of Elkanah, the son of Mahath, the son of Amasai,아론의 후손은 다음과 같다. 그의 아들은 엘르아잘, 그 다음 대는 비느하스, 그 다음 대는 아비수아,

³⁶The son of Elkanah, the son of Joel, the son of Azariah, the son of Zephaniah,그 다음 대는 북키, 그 다음 대는 우찌, 그 다음 대는 즈라히야,

³⁷The son of Tahath, the son of Assir, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah,그 다음 대는 므라욧, 그 다음 대는 아마리야, 그 다음 대는 아히툽,

³⁸The son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, the son of Israel.그 다음 대는 사독, 그 다음 대는 아히마스.

³⁹And his brother Asaph, who stood on his right hand, even Asaph the son of Berachiah, the son of Shimea,아론의 후손 가운데 크핫 씨족이 천막을 치고 산 지역은 아래와 같다. 그들에게 첫 몫이 돌아갔는데,

⁴⁰The son of Michael, the son of Baaseiah, the son of Malchiah,그들이 받은 곳은 유다 지방의 헤브론과 그 주위에 있는 목장 지대였다.

⁴¹The son of Ethni, the son of Zerah, the son of Adaiah,그러나 그 성읍에 딸린 밭과 촌락들은 여분네의 아들 갈렙에게 돌아갔다.

⁴²The son of Ethan, the son of Zimmah, the son of Shimei,아론의 후손에게는 도피성 헤브론 외에 리브나와 거기에 딸린 목장 지대, 야띨과 거기에 딸린 목장 지대, 에스드모아와 거기에 딸린 목장 지대,

⁴³The son of Jahath, the son of Gershom, the son of Levi.힐렌과 거기에 딸린 목장 지대, 드빌과 거기에 딸린 목장 지대,

⁴⁴And their brethren the sons of Merari stood on the left hand: Ethan the son of Kishi, the son of Abdi, the son of Malluch,아산과 거기에 딸린 목장 지대, 벳세메스와 거기에 딸린 목장 지대가 돌아갔다.

⁴⁵The son of Hashabiah, the son of Amaziah, the son of Hilkiah,베냐민 지파의 지역에서는 게바와 거기에 딸린 목장 지대, 알레멧과 거기에 딸린 목장 지대, 아나돗과 거기에 딸린 목장 지대 등 모두 열세 성읍과 거기에 딸린 목장 지대가 그들에게 돌아갔다.

⁴⁶The son of Amzi, the son of Bani, the son of Shamer,나머지 크핫 후손의 씨족들은 므나쎄 반쪽 지파의 지역에서 열 성읍을 제비뽑아 나누어받았다.

⁴⁷The son of Mahli, the son of Mushi, the son of Merari, the son of Levi.게르손 후손의 씨족들은 이싸갈 지파, 아셀 지파, 납달리 지파, 바산에 있는 므나쎄 지파의 지역에서 열세 성읍을 나누어받았다.

⁴⁸Their brethren also the Levites were appointed unto all manner of service of the tabernacle of the house of God.므라리 후손의 씨족들은 르우벤 지파, 가드 지파, 즈불룬 지파의 지역에서 열두 성읍을 제비뽑아 나누어받았다.

⁴⁹But Aaron and his sons offered upon the altar of the burnt offering, and on the altar of incense, and were appointed for all the work of the place most holy, and to make an atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.이스라엘 백성들은 이 성읍들에 목장 지대를 붙여서 레위인들에게 주었다.

⁵⁰And these are the sons of Aaron; Eleazar his son, Phinehas his son, Abishua his son,이 성읍들은 유다 지파, 시므온 지파, 베냐민 지파의 지역에서 제비를 뽑아 차출한 것이었다.

⁵¹Bukki his son, Uzzi his son, Zerahiah his son,크핫 후손의 어떤 씨족들은 에브라임 지파의 지역에서도 몇 성읍을 나누어받았다.

⁵²Meraioth his son, Amariah his son, Ahitub his son,에브라임 산악 지대에서 그들에게 돌아간 것은 도피성 세겜과 거기에 딸린 목장 지대, 게젤과 거기에 딸린 목장 지대,

⁵³Zadok his son, Ahimaaz his son.욕므암과 거기에 딸린 목장 지대, 벳호론과 거기에 딸린 목장 지대,

⁵⁴Now these are their dwelling places throughout their castles in their coasts, of the sons of Aaron, of the families of the Kohathites: for theirs was the lot.아얄론과 거기에 딸린 목장 지대, 갓림몬과 거기에 딸린 목장 지대였다.

⁵⁵And they gave them Hebron in the land of Judah, and the suburbs thereof round about it.그리고 므나쎄 반쪽 지파의 지역에서 그들에게 돌아간 것은 아넬과 거기에 딸린 목장 지대, 빌르암과 거기에 딸린 목장 지대였다. 이상이 크핫의 씨족들에게 배당된 곳들이다.

⁵⁶But the fields of the city, and the villages thereof, they gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh.게르손 후손에게는 므나쎄 반쪽 지파의 지역에서 바산에 있는 골란과 거기에 딸린 목장 지대, 아스다롯과 거기에 딸린 목장 지대가 돌아갔다.

⁵⁷And to the sons of Aaron they gave the cities of Judah, namely , Hebron, the city of refuge, and Libnah with her suburbs, and Jattir, and Eshtemoa, with their suburbs,이싸갈 지파의 지역에서는 케데스와 거기에 딸린 목장 지대, 다브랏과 거기에 딸린 목장 지대,

⁵⁸And Hilen with her suburbs, Debir with her suburbs,라못과 거기에 딸린 목장 지대, 아넴과 거기에 딸린 목장 지대가 그들에게 돌아갔다.

⁵⁹And Ashan with her suburbs, and Beth-shemesh with her suburbs:아셀 지파의 지역에서는 마살과 거기에 딸린 목장 지대, 압돈과 거기에 딸린 목장 지대,

⁶⁰And out of the tribe of Benjamin; Geba with her suburbs, and Alemeth with her suburbs, and Anathoth with her suburbs. All their cities throughout their families were thirteen cities.후콕과 거기에 딸린 목장 지대, 르홉과 거기에 딸린 목장 지대가 돌아갔다.

⁶¹And unto the sons of Kohath, which were left of the family of that tribe, were cities given out of the half tribe, namely, out of the half tribe of Manasseh, by lot, ten cities.납달리 지파의 지역에서는 갈릴래아에 있는 케데스와 거기에 딸린 목장 지대, 함몬과 거기에 딸린 목장 지대, 키랴다임과 거기에 딸린 목장 지대가 돌아갔다.

⁶²And to the sons of Gershom throughout their families out of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.므라리의 나머지 후손들에게는 즈불룬 지파의 지역에서 림모노와 거기에 딸린 목장 지대, 다볼과 거기에 딸린 목장 지대가 돌아갔다.

⁶³Unto the sons of Merari were given by lot, throughout their families, out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.예리고 맞은편 요르단 강 건너 동쪽에 있는 르우벤 지파의 지역에서는 사막에 있는 베셀과 거기에 딸린 목장 지대, 야사와 거기에 딸린 목장 지대,

⁶⁴And the children of Israel gave to the Levites these cities with their suburbs.크데못과 거기에 딸린 목장 지대, 메바앗과 거기에 딸린 목장 지대가 그들에게 돌아갔다.

⁶⁵And they gave by lot out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, and out of the tribe of the children of Benjamin, these cities, which are called by their names.가드 지파의 지역에서는 길르앗에 있는 라못과 거기에 딸린 목장 지대, 마하나임과 거기에 딸린 목장 지대,

⁶⁶And the residue of the families of the sons of Kohath had cities of their coasts out of the tribe of Ephraim.헤스본과 거기에 딸린 목장 지대, 야젤과 거기에 딸린 목장 지대가 그들에게 돌아갔다.
